FRRMS to Support Farmers in Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina

8. 4. 2025

Brno, April 8, 2025 – The Faculty of Regional Development and International Studies at Mendel University in Brno (FRRMS) launched a new international project in March 2025 titled Family Farms in Short Food Supply Chains: Transferring Experience from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. The project is supported by the International Visegrad Fund and will run for the next 18 months.

The aim of the project is to collect and share inspiring business models and best practices in short food supply chains from the Visegrad countries. These experiences will be transferred to farmers in Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina to help strengthen their businesses and improve competitiveness.

“This project will help farmers in Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina accelerate innovation processes and improve their economic situation. We also expect the project to strengthen cooperation with academic and applied partners in the participating countries,” explains the project’s principal investigator Ing. Ivo Zdráhal, Ph.D.

The project consortium includes a total of nine partners from universities, NGOs, and private companies. FRRMS will be responsible for expert analysis of selected models and for contributing to educational activities for stakeholders in the target countries.
