The South Moravian Agency for Public Innovation (JINAG) supports sustainable development and innovation in the South Moravian Region to improve the quality of life for local residents. Erasmus fo Young Entrepreneurs

  • Study abroad or international exchange

Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is an international exchange program by the European Commission aimed at supporting entrepreneurship in Europe through cross-border exchange of experiences. The program is available in 39 countries. Since its launch in 2009, over 11,000 exchanges have been carried out. It is not part of the Erasmus+ program, but rather a separate initiative.

  • The program involves a total of 39 countries, to which participants can travel.
  • The duration of the work placement is 1 to 6 months, with the possibility to split the stay into multiple blocks (fragmented stay).
  • The participant’s professional field is not limited in any way; it can be a common profession or something very specific.
  • The language in which the placement will take place must be an EU language. Although most placements are conducted in English, this is not a requirement. For example, placements in Germany and Austria can be carried out in German, and placements in Slovakia can be conducted in Czech/Slovak, etc.
  • Financial support is available for aspiring entrepreneurs. The amount of the stipend depends on the country the participant is traveling to. The support is paid monthly by the intermediary organization that sends the participant. A list of countries, including the stipend amounts, is available on the website www.rera.cz/eye.
  • The minimum age for a starting entrepreneur is 18, but the program does not have an upper age limit.
  • The entrepreneurial experience of a starting entrepreneur must not exceed 3 years. However, there are exceptions, such as in the case of the so-called “Švarc system,” if someone has an active business license even if they are not actively running a business, etc. In these cases, individual consultation is always required.
  • The starting entrepreneur must have lived in the Czech Republic for at least 6 months in the past year. They do not need to be a Czech citizen in order to travel from the Czech Republic within the program.
  • Repeat participation for starting entrepreneurs is not allowed in this program. However, the program does not exclude previous or future participation in Erasmus+, as they are two completely separate programs.
