This year we decided to take a different approach to Advent – instead of giving to ourselves, we want to give together to those who need it most. We have dedicated each of the three weeks until Christmas to a charity collection. These collections will run until the end of the year, but we’ll reveal them one at a time, each on a Monday.
The first fundraiser we are launching today is for school supplies for children in Sierra Leone. Join us and help children get an education that can change their lives. Together we can create a true Christmas miracle!
What can you donate?
We collect any school supplies, but the most useful will be:
- Stationery (pencils, pens, crayons)
- Workbooks, rulers and simple books in English
- Materials for creative teaching: tempera, watercolours, glue, etc.
Each item donated can have a big impact on the educational journey of children in areas where educational resources are very limited.
How will your donations help?
The collection will support the children in the project of World Possible Sierra Leone, a non-profit organisation working in the north of the country in the town of Kabala and the villages of Senekedugu and Fadugu. The organisation focuses on educating children using innovative methods:
- Teaching math on tablets and laptops with Khan Academy materials and other educational resources.
- The solar-powered infrastructure ensures that teaching is available even in remote areas.
- The coaches help the children not only with teaching but also with technical issues.
Our fundraising coordinator will be on site to help directly with teaching the children and optimizing teaching methods.
Where to drop off the items for fundraiser?
At the Faculty, you can drop off the items you need in the box by the Christmas tree located by the study department.
More about World Possible Sierra Leone here.
Thank you for helping out! 🌍✨
