Department of Language and Cultural Studies

We teach four world languages at the Institute of Language and Cultural Studies. Their knowledge will certainly come in handy, whether you work in the Czech Republic, in the nearest neighbouring countries, in the EU institutions in Brussels or in developing countries in different parts of the world. These languages are English, German, French and Spanish.
In addition to traditional general and specialised language courses, we also teach specialized subjects. These include Academic Writing in English, Presentation Skills in English, and other subjects focusing on language and cultural studies.
In our research and publication activities, we focus on three areas: applied linguistics, cultural studies and foreign language didactics.
